The man behind JWC Performance
Wrenching in the garage helping and learning from my dad when I was a kid, I developed a taste for speed from ages earlier than 5. Cruising around with my dad in his original 1970 Hemi Roadrunner, baking the tires off from light to light. It was on from there, drag racing was in my blood.
I started my formal training at Washington County Technical High School. Through school, the introduction of the new LS powered trans ams and Camaros were released. In the new pages of hod rod magazine were ads for the new Z28 and a close friend would point and say he was going to have one soon. We all would joke around and tell him he was crazy until shortly after he showed up at my house with a bright red new Z28. The first spin I was sold. I was determined to own one myself.
Upon graduation I started working at a local ford dealership continuing on with my formal training and receiving my ford and ASE certifications. Not losing site of my real aspirations, I did pick up a new LS Z28 Camaro right after school as well.
With the mods happening directly and becoming a regular at drag racing events, it was quickly known what my true passion was. I quickly began modifying other cars and modifying / repairing the svt vehicles as well. My attention to detail and particular-ness didn’t go unrecognized.
After 7 years at the dealer I had an opportunity to work in the field I have wanted to from the beginning full time at a high end muscle car shop. I was able to mix the old with the new technology and performance. With countless accomplishments including multiple vehicles I’ve been a part of in multiple magazines, including Hod Rod, Popular Hot Rodding, Camaro Performers, and Modified Mustangs just to name a few. Invitations to Sema and the Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car Challenge as well.
Even with the success and accomplishments, it was time to part ways with this company. At which time I started working for another high end muscle car and fabrication shop. But with leaving the local shop my phone would not stop ringing! With my departure, a lot of guys were left with no where to go. At this point JWC performance was born and the rest is history….
